(breitbart) – Thousands of people in 16 California cities took to the streets on Saturday to protest Gov. Gavin Newsom’s curfew order requiring people to stay at home after 10 p.m. Carrying Trump/Pence flags and “Open up California” banners, the crowds began to gather at 10:01 p.m., including in Huntington Beach and San Clemente.

“Governor Newsom’s sweeping edicts by moving 95 percent of California to purple tier and a curfew is an abuse of power,” Syndie Ly, who helped organize the protest and was on the ground in San Clemente, told Breitbart News. “We are all responsible adults so we can make our individual choices.”

“This movement is about us rising up for our freedom and against Governor Newsom’s overreaching edicts,” Ly said.

“This is tyrannical and government overreach on behalf of Gavin Newsom and other Democrat governors. The American people, as well as citizens of other countries need to stand up against this,” Nancy Vu-Kerr, who took part in the Huntington Beach protest, told Breitbart News. “Our freedoms are truly at risk and all we need to do is look at the history of my mother country of Vietnam, and other countries of Venezuela, Cuba, Iran and others.”

Russ Taylor, who also helped organize the protests, told Breitbart News the bottom line is freedom.

“We, as citizens, should be responsible, but we shouldn’t be so fearful that we live in a bubble and lose our personal liberties,” Taylor said.

Rick Brown, who just finished running the successful campaign of Tito Ortiz for Huntington Beach City Council, told Breitbart News that people are fed up.

“The event last night was over 1,000 patriots pushing back against the undeclared “martial law” coming from Gavin Newsom, who had the audacity to declare all Californians be indoors by 10 p.m,” Brown said, “Well guess what? We will NOT play in his sandbox anymore.”

“Curfew Crashers” protests were planned in San Clemente, Yorba Linda, Huntington Beach, Riverside, Temecula, Brentwood, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Patterson, Redlands, Sacramento, San Diego, La Quinta, Beverly Hills, and Brentwood, according to organizers.

“If you are a free American join us for a clear act of defiance against Newsom’s 10 p.m. stay at home order, “ the flyers for each protest said.

The flyers said some of the protests will include a “mask defiance ceremony” and in Santa Barbara a “mask burning” was planned.

As Breitbart News reported, every county sheriff in the Los Angeles region has said they will not enforce the curfew.

Pennsylvania officials can certify election results that currently show Democrat Joe Biden winning the state by more than 80,000 votes, a federal judge ruled Saturday, dealing President Donald Trump’s campaign another blow in its effort to invalidate the election.

U.S. District Judge Matthew Brann in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, turned down the request for an injunction by President Donald Trump’s campaign, spoiling the incumbent’s hopes of somehow overturning the results of the presidential contest.

In his ruling, Brann said the Trump campaign presented “strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations … unsupported by evidence.”

“In the United States of America, this cannot justify the disenfranchisement of a single voter, let alone all the voters of its sixth most populated state,” the opinion said. “Our people, laws, and institutions demand more.”

A message seeking comment was left with the Trump campaign.

Trump had argued that the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection under the law was violated when Pennsylvania counties took different approaches to notifying voters before the election about technical problems with their submitted mail-in ballots.

Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar and the seven Biden-majority counties that the campaign sued had argued Trump had previously raised similar claims and lost.

They told Brann the remedy the Trump campaign sought, to throw out millions of votes over alleged isolated issues, was far too extreme, particularly after most of them have been tallied.

“There is no justification on any level for the radical disenfranchisement they seek,” Boockvar’s lawyers wrote in a brief filed Thursday.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, tweeted shortly after Brann’s ruling, saying “Another one bites the dust.”

The state’s 20 electoral votes would not have been enough on their own to hand Trump a second term. Counties must certify their results to Boockvar by Monday, after which she will make her own certification.

Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf will notify the winning candidate’s electors they should appear to vote in the Capitol on Dec. 14.

(breitbart) – President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump is considering running for Senate in the North Carolina race in 2022, according to the New York Times.

The Times cites “three allies” who say the wife of Donald Trump’s son Eric is considering a run in 2022 after Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) retires.

Lara Trump worked as a senior adviser on the 2020 Trump campaign, playing a visible role on the campaign trail and as a star in a lot of the campaign’s online content.

She is a native of North Carolina and graduated from North Carolina State University but currently lives with Eric and her two children in Westchester, New York.

Other North Carolina Republicans eying the seat include Retiring Rep. Mark Walker, Former Gov. Pat McCrory, Lt. Gov. Dan Forrest, and even former Rep. Mark Meadows, President Donald Trump’s chief of staff.

Former counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway spoke about Lara Trump’s strengths to the Times.

“She would be formidable. She has the trifecta: She can raise money, raise awareness of key issues, and raise attention to her race,” Conway said. “Unlike many typical politicians, she connects with people and is a compelling messenger.”

(breitbart) – During an hour-long special to promote his recently released book “A Promised Land,” former President Barack Obama dismissed suggestions that anything inappropriate had taken place in the presidential election earlier this month.

He called those allegations “bald assertions” and took a jab at his successor, President Donald Trump.

“Look, Joe Biden’s going to be the next president of the United States,” he said. “Kamala Harris will be the next vice president. I have been troubled like I think every American, whether you’re a Republican or Democrat or Independent, should be troubled, when you start having attempts to block, negate, overturn the people’s vote when there’s no actual evidence that there was anything illegal or fraudulent taking place.”

“These are just bald assertions,” Obama continued. “They’ve been repeatedly rejected by the courts. And I think I’m less surprised by Donald Trump doing this. You know, he has shown only a flimsy relationship to the truth. I’m more troubled that you’re seeing a lot of Republican officials go along with it, not because they actually believe it, but because they feel intimidated by it, and the degree to which you’ve seen some news outlets that cater to the right and the conservative viewpoint somehow try to prop up these bogus claims.”

(bigleaguepolitics) – Illinois teenager Kyle Rittenhouse has been freed from the Kenosha County Jail in Wisconsin, after posting a $2 million bond set by a judge on Friday.

Rittenhouse is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for shooting and killing Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber during a Black Lives Matter riot in August. He’s also charged with a count of being a minor in possession of a firearm.

Rittenhouse was assailed by Rosenbaum while present at the scene of the riots, carrying an AR-style rifle and planning to prevent looting and rioting in Kenosha. Rittenhouse shot and killed Rosenbaum, arguing that he acted in self-defense when Rosenbaum attempted to grab his rifle. Rittenhouse would go on to shoot two men- one of them armed with a gun- who chased him as he tried to flee the scene of the riots.

Rittenhouse had been extradited from Illinois to Wisconsin to face charges. He posted bond through his attorney, Mark Richards, on Friday at 2PM.

Rosenbaum had been discharged from a mental hospital earlier on the day he was shot and killed, following his second suicide attempt.

Rittenhouse’s next court appearance is scheduled for December 3rd.

(breitbart) – A team of security agents raided Xuncheng Church in China’s Shanxi province on Sunday, interrupting the worship service and arresting the preacher as well as six members of the congregation, International Christian Concern (ICC) reported Tuesday.

The Xuncheng Church was founded as an offshoot of Early Rain Covenant Church (ERCC) in Chengdu, a 5,000-member church shut down by Communist authorities in December 2018 whose pastor, Wang Yi, was sentenced to nine years in prison for “inciting subversion.”

The preacher of Xuncheng Church, Rev. An Yankui, graduated from the seminary founded by ERCC and follows the reformed theology of Pastor Wang Yi.

Last April, Chinese police raided the homes of members of the Early Rain Covenant Church who were Zooming a worship service on Easter Sunday, arresting six church leaders. The worship service included a taped sermon by Pastor Wang Yi, which apparently sparked the crackdown.

The following month, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) ordered the ERCC to cease all online worship services. Since the shuttering of their church, ERCC members had to resort to online streamed worship services, but now the government wants to stop those as well, the Christian Post reported at the time.

The officials involved in last Sunday’s raid included members of the public security bureau, the ethnic and religious affairs bureau, the ministry of civil affairs, and local police, ICC reported. On arriving, the leader of the team went straight to the pulpit and seized the cell phone of the presider.

Before arresting Rev. An, the officials questioned his qualifications as a preacher, asking whether his credentials had been approved by the state and whether the worship service was registered with the government.

Police prevented people from recording the incident and confiscated members’ cell phones along with Bibles, hymnals, and choir robes. They also demanded everyone’s personal contact information.

“In this day and age, where any religion in China has to submit itself to the control of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and President Xi Jinping, it is no longer a surprise that a house church is seen as an enemy of the state and clamped down upon,” said Gina Goh, ICC’s Regional Manager for Southeast Asia.

“China’s blindness to its violation of religious freedom needs to be continuously exposed so that Beijing knows it cannot get away with performing these evil acts,” Ms. Goh added.

(breitbart) – House Democrats nominated Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to serve another term as speaker, likely making her the next leader of Congress’s lower chamber.

The California Democrat has been the leader of her caucus for the last two decades.

House Democrat Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said, “Nancy Pelosi is a legendary speaker. One of the best who’s ever done it, ever, in the history of the republic. She certainly has my strong support.”

Jeffries added, “Whatever happens in the future is going to happen. During the Trump era, we’ve just been all trying to get to tomorrow. Now, we’re trying to get to Jan. 20, and it will be a new day in America.”

The news follows as House Democrats have managed to lose a net eight seats during the 2020 congressional elections, resulting in a dwindled majority for Pelosi, assuming she is reelected.

The slimmer majority will make it more difficult to pass legislation on partisan lines, and make it more likely that swing district Democrats could break and vote with Republicans on controversial bills.

Congresswoman-elect Yvette Herrell (R-NM), who unseated Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM) in New Mexico’s Second Congressional District, told Breitbart News Tonight host Matthew Boyle that Pelosi’s majority is in “shambles.”

She charged that Democrats’ slimmer majority would give Republicans more leverage in the next congressional term.

“The majority for Speaker Pelosi has really gotten in shambles here, and it’s going to be a lot more difficult for her to be able to hold onto her people, and I’m just excited to be a part of that,” Herrell said.

“It’s a beautiful thing because you’re right, she’s [Pelosi] going to have such a slim margin, and I know that her members are very angry right now. They all felt that they were going to be protected; they were going to increase their numbers. It completely backfired. And here’s what I believe,” she added.

(breitbart) – Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) grilled Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey at a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee today, for suppressing discussion of voter fraud. The Texas senator also condemned Democrat senators for demanding more censorship from Big Tech.

“It’s dismaying listening to the questions from our Democratic colleagues, because consistently the message from Senate Democrats is for Facebook and Twitter and Google to censor more. To abuse their power more. To silence voices that Senate Democrats disagree with – more. That is very dangerous if we want to maintain a free and fair democracy.”

“Are you an expert in voter fraud?” asked Cruz.

“No I’m not,” responded Dorsey.

“Well why, then, is Twitter right now putting purported warnings on virtually any statement about voter fraud?”

“We’re simply linking to a broader conversation so that people have more information.”

“No you’re not. You put up a page saying, quote, ‘voter fraud of any kind is exceedingly rare in the United States’. That’s not linking to a broader conversation, that’s taking a disputed policy position, and you’re a publisher when you’re doing that. You’re entitled to take a policy position, but you don’t get to pretend you’re not a publisher and get a special benefit under Section 230 as a result.”

“That link is pointing to a broader conversation with tweets from publishers and people all around the country,” responded the Twitter CEO.

“Mr. Dorsey, would the following statement violate Twitter’s policies, quote ‘absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.’”

“I imagine that we would label it,” said Dorsey.

“How about this … ‘voter fraud is particularly possible where, quote, third-party organizations, candidates, and political party activists are involved in, quote, handling absentee ballots.’ Would you flag that as potentially misleading?”

“I don’t know the specifics of how we might enforce that, but I imagine a lot of these would have a label pointing people to a bigger conversation,” said Dorsey.

“Well you’re right, you would label them, because you’ve taken the political position right now that voter fraud doesn’t exist. I would note both of those quotes come from the Carter-Baker Commission on Federal Election Reform, that is Democratic President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker, and Twitter’s position is, essentially, voter fraud does not exist.”

“Are you aware that just two weeks ago in the state of Texas, a woman was charged with one-hundred and thirty-four counts of election fraud, are you aware of that?”

Dorsey said he was not aware of it.

Cruz went on to ask Dorsey to provide hard data on the number of times Twitter has blocked Republican candidates and officeholders vs. Democratic candidates and officeholders. Dorsey would not give a clear answer, instead saying he would “look into it and see what we can do.”

(breitbart) – Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told reporters on Tuesday that Joe Biden (D) is not officially “president-elect” until President Trump concedes or the states have certified the results and the court cases have been dismissed.

The Wall Street Journal’s Lindsay Wise detailed a Q&A with the South Carolina senator, who told reporters that it is “now” time for Trump’s team to provide proof to back its mounting questions on the integrity of the election.

“Bottom line is you’re attacking the voting machines, you have to prove that, you can’t just say that. You know, there may be proof, I don’t know. But it’s kind of time now to show it in a court of law,” Graham said, according to Wise.

“We are at the point now where recounts are going on and it’s now time to put it up,” he added.

When asked for a timeline on when it is time to collectively refer to Biden as “president-elect” — a term several reporters have already begun to embrace —  Graham said it should occur “when Trump concedes or the court cases have been dismissed and the states certified.”

“If there is no concession there is a contest. If there is a contest in court & the party loses, that’s the end of the contest. There is no way to overturn a election other than a court of law,” Graham added:

On Monday, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) accused the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman of implying that he should “look hard and see how many ballots you could throw out” during the recount effort in the Peach State.

“I want to be clear, you say Senator Graham wanted you to find ways to get rid of legally cast ballots. CNN asked him about these allegations. He denied them and said that’s ridiculous. His words, ‘that’s ridiculous,’” CNN’s Wolf Blitzer said.

“Well, just an implication that ‘look hard and see how many ballots you could throw out.’ And I think that they’re looking at that as part of a court case,” the secretary of state said.

Graham has stood by the president in the days following the election, explicitly stating that Trump “should not concede” during a November 8 appearance on Sunday Morning Futures.

“To my Republican colleagues out there, we have to fight back, or we will accept our fate,” he said at the time. Days later, he defended his call for Trump and his allies to question voter irregularities.

“We don’t need their permission to look into these allegations. We owe it to those who voted for President Trump and the country at large to test the system,” Graham said.

( dailyconservative ) – Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller announced Tuesday that President Donald Trump has ordered the Pentagon to pull 2,500 troops from Afghanistan and Iraq by mid-January.

Only about 2,500 troops will be left in each country after the drawdown, Miller said.

Miller said Trump’s decision was based on months of conversations with Miller and others across the government and called it a “collaborative decision.”

A senior Trump official said the drawdown would not threaten national security and that the troops left in the two countries “can accomplish everything we have been doing.”

Some suggest that Mark Esper’s firing as Secretary of Defense made a way for the drawdowns.
