(trendingpoliticsnews) – The sudden announcement of charges against Hunter Biden may actually be a ploy by Justice Department officials to protect President Joe Biden, said Jesse Watters on Fox News Thursday.
By prosecuting Hunter for felony gun possession as a drug user, Watters claimed, the Justice Department is effectively choosing to pursue the only criminal case which may not directly implicate President Biden, therefore providing cover on its decision to not pursue leads suggesting Biden helped his son earn millions of dollars lobbying on behalf of foreign corporations.
“This is the only crime that doesn’t involve Joe Biden, and it’s the only one that’s being prosecuted. Think about that. This just lets the Justice Department save face and say ‘See? Take this seriously. We’re holding Hunter accountable.’ And then he’ll just cut another deal after the election or get pardoned,” said Watters.
However, the steady drip of revelations about Biden’s connection to Hunter’s lobbying work, which has also led to charges, means that Democrats’ strategy to protect Biden “is getting gashed.”
“Today they’ve been forced to admit that Hunter Biden’s business partner was Joe Biden’s accountant when he was vice president. And this just in: Joe Biden had lunch at the vice president’s residence with Hunter’s Kazakhstani business partners,” adding one of those individuals is not in prison.
“Wonder how Joe likes his eggs,” Watters quipped.

Earlier this week, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced the start of an impeachment inquiry into President Biden given evidence that he unlawfully used the power of the vice presidency to benefit Hunter and earn millions of dollars for members of his family. Despite Democrats’ insistence that the probe is unjustified, Republican leaders like House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) have produced testimony from witnesses alleging Biden participated in dozens of business meetings with Hunter, business partner Devon Archer, and individuals tied to China’s government and powerful Russian oligarchs.
President Biden has denied his involvement, including the allegation that he accepted a bribe in exchange for firing a prosecutor in Ukraine investigating his son’s company. However, the swirl of controversies has weighed heavily on Biden both personally and professionally; a majority of Americans believe he participated in Hunter’s business affairs.
