WATCH: Defiant Trump Attorney John Eastman Speaks Out On Indictment: ‘We Did Nothing Wrong’

(trendingpoliticsnews) – John Eastman, attorney for former President Donald Trump, made an appearance on Laura Ingraham’s show on Fox News last night, ferociously defending both himself and Trump amid multiple criminal indictments.

Eastman is not backing down from his stance that neither he nor the former President did anything wrong, saying, “We were challenging the election for what even Vice President Pence described as serious allegations of fraud and numerous instances of officials violating state law.”

Eastman also raised concerns about the effect the case could have on legal representation in election-related lawsuits. He alleged that authorities are attempting to stifle individuals from seeking representation in such cases, pointing to the bar complaints lodged against those involved in the election litigation. “They’ve made that very clear that that’s what they’re up to, and we can’t allow it to happen,” Eastman stated.

His defiant stance comes in the wake of increasing legal pressures on former President Trump and his allies, including an upcoming trial date set for October 23 by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The charges, which Eastman refers to as stifling freedom of speech and due process, are part of four separate criminal cases that could lead to more than 800 years in prison for Trump if convicted on all counts.

The core of the indictment accuses the individuals of illicit collaboration forming a “criminal enterprise” post the declaration of Joe Biden as Georgia’s election victor. Trump himself is looking at 13 charges, inclusive of a RICO Act violation.

As October 23 approaches, both sides are digging in their heels, setting the stage for more courtroom drama. That said, Eastman and Trump have been publicly adamant to fighting the indictments.

When questioned earlier in August, Eastman was unwavering in his belief that the election was stolen. “Do you still think the election was stolen?” asked a reporter.

“Absolutely,” said Eastman.

The investigation into alleged election interference in Georgia has already seen the indictment of several key figures, including Giuliani’s colleague, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and of course, Donald Trump.

“I’m feeling very, very good about it because I feel like I am defending the rights of all Americans as I did so many times as a United States Attorney,” said Giuliani when he turned himself in. “I’m the same Rudy Giuliani that took down the mafia, made New York City the safest city in America… and I’m fighting for justice. I have from the first moment I represented Donald Trump.”

“I don’t know how many times he has to be proven innocent and they have to be proven to be liars. Actually enemies of all the public who are destroying rights, sacred rights. They’re destroying my right to counsel, my right to be a lawyer. They’re destroying his right to counsel. It’s not accidental that they’ve indicted all his lawyers,” he added.
